In order to address weight balance well, we need to look at the following:

1. Testing: It is important to test for hormonal imbalances, blood sugar issues, nutrient deficiencies, adrenal health, thyroid health, and more. Hormones, such as insulin, cortisol, and estrogen affect the ability to lose weight and we want to have all of the information needed to help you reach and maintain a balanced weight.

2. Symptoms are messages from the body: We take the time to listen and understand what you are experiencing in your body and health.

3. Nutrition: Nutrition is key to weight balance. If maintaining a healthy diet is challenging, you’re not alone. Most people need a plan and support for lasting lifestyle changes. Our compassionate and knowledgeable team will help you develop a sustainable eating plan that fits your health and life. We work with you to understand what works best for your body.

4. Blood sugar regulation: Folks who struggle with weight balance often benefit from balancing their blood sugar. Addressing this has a great effect on the body’s ability to lose weight.

5. Cortisol: Cortisol is the hormone that responds to stress and also provides your body with energy. We don’t want cortisol levels to be too low or high. When they are too high, however, it can be hard to lose weight and cause weight gain in the midsection. We measure cortisol four times in one day through a saliva test that is completed at home. This enables us to better understand how stress is impacting your body so we can help you balance cortisol and stress more easily.

6. Thyroid: Low thyroid function can cause unexplained weight gain. We will measure your thyroid with three different hormone tests and help you support healthy thyroid function.

7. Stress management and sleep: Poor sleep can increase hunger hormones, making it harder to control appetite and cravings. If you have sleep issues, improving your sleep is our priority, as it impacts everything. We also address stress with nervous system balancing, supplements, and coaching.

8. Herbs: Supplements and herbs can be helpful tools to aid in weight loss and enhance healing.
