Heal Anxiety Naturally

Society inundates us with reasons to feel anxious, yet offers few effective tools for managing it. While anti-anxiety medication can help, relying solely on medication often falls short of true healing. An alternative approach involves holistic support for both physical and emotional well-being. Our bodies are interconnected, and addressing mental health alone overlooks crucial aspects of our health. Let’s seek a comprehensive solution that promotes genuine wellness and helps you reclaim your true self!

In order to address anxiety well, we want to look at the following:

1. Sleep – When someone comes into our practice with sleep issues, one of the first things we address is helping them sleep better, as this affects everything.

2. Stress Management – We have effective methods of addressing stress through nervous system balancing, supplements, and coaching from our team.

3. Nutrition – Nutrition affects blood sugar regulation, which is crucial for mood. Also, food can either increase OR decrease inflammation in your body. We help you know exactly what is going to most benefit you in terms of your nutrition, mental health, and body. You are not alone if you find it hard to stay on track with a healthy diet. Most people need a plan and support to develop a lifestyle change. Our compassionate and knowledgeable team will help you to develop a sustainable way of eating that works for YOUR health and YOUR life.

4. Herbs – Supplements and herbs can be helpful tools to take the edge off of anxiety and support healing.

5. Hormone balancing – For women, we consider whether you are perimenopausal or have symptoms of estrogen dominance or other hormonal imbalances. We will look at your hormones on lab tests and we will examine whether your mood swings are worse at different times of your cycle, etc. For men, we evaluate whether your testosterone or testosterone precursors are too low.

6. Cortisol – Cortisol is the hormone that responds to stress/anxiety and also gives you energy, so you don’t want it too low or too high. We measure cortisol four times in one day through a saliva test that is completed at home. This enables us to better understand how stress is impacting your body so we can help you balance cortisol and stress more easily.

7. Thyroid – When the thyroid is out of balance, it can contribute to fatigue and mood issues. We evaluate your thyroid using three different thyroid hormone tests to determine how best to support healthy thyroid function.

8. Testing – It is important to test for hormonal imbalances, blood sugar issues, nutrient deficiencies, adrenal health, thyroid health, and more. We want to have all of the information needed to help you in your healing journey.

At Waterleaf, our goal is to understand what you need, make a plan to get you there and support you through that plan so you can experience great results. It is our mission to help our practice members feel empowered in their health and know what to do to feel good!
